Civil Service Commission issues announcement for 2022 Law Enforcement Review
TRENTON – The New Jersey Civil Service Commission (CSC) released examination announcements for the entry-level Law Enforcement Examination (LEE) credentials on Monday, January 3, 2022. The LEE assesses l Candidate’s readiness for entry into law enforcement credentials, including knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics.
The following LEE titles have been announced:
- Rookie University Police Officer *
- Correctional Police Officer (Department of Corrections) *
- Correctional Police Officer, Juvenile Justice Commission *
- County Correctional Police Officer
- County Police Officer
- Municipal police officer
- Park police officer
- Parole Officer Recruit
- Parole Officer Recruit Juvenile Justice Commission
- Palisades Interstate Park Police Officer *
- Police officer Recruit Personal services *
- Sheriff’s Officer
- State Park Police Officer Intern *
- * State title
Previously, applicants would place a single exam advertisement, select the jurisdictions and titles for which they wished to be appointed, and then successful applicants were placed in a “pool” for selection based on their exam score and rank. the veteran’s preference. The new process for LEE announcements for January 2022 will provide municipalities, counties and state departments with announcements specific to their jurisdiction and title (s) used. Candidates should file a separate application to indicate their interest in the exam for a particular jurisdiction and title.
Bilingual Spanish and English and bilingual Korean and English positions will be available, by symbol, for some of the titles listed above. To apply for a bilingual position, a candidate must complete an application for the particular bilingual advertisement for the title. Applicants for bilingual positions will be tested at the time of certification for their proficiency in Spanish or Korean.
âThe LEE candidate population is the largest exam administered by CSC. During its last administration in 2019, approximately 28,000 candidates applied for the exam and approximately 22,000 took the exam, âsaid Deirdré Webster Cobb Esq, President / CEO of the Public Service Commission. “After extensive planning to establish the safest and most responsible way to retest for this large number of candidates during the COVID-19 pandemic, my team and I are happy to announce LEE 2022.”
Review announcements and nominations will be available on the New Jersey Public Service Commission website https://nj.gov/csc from January 3, 2022 to February 28, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
