ERC title winner Pardo prepares for Rally2 stage

Friday | March 04, 2022

Javier Pardo will transfer his talent from Rally2 Kit to Rally2 in this season’s FIA European Rally Championship.

The 2021 ERC2 champion is switching to a Škoda Fabia Rally2 for what is planned to be a year of learning at the highest level of the ERC alongside his longtime co-driver Adrián Pérez.

And it will be a busy year for the Spanish rising star with a national program for Suzuki Motor Ibérica aboard his Suzuki Swift R4lly S also on the programme.

The team guided Pardo and Pérez to an unprecedented six ERC2 wins from six starts last season and gave the pair special clearance to begin an ERC1 campaign.

“Although I still don’t think all of this has been achieved, I can’t wait to ride again and give my best to thank all this support with good results,” said Pardo, 25. “Thanks to Suzuki Motor Ibérica for allowing me to participate with another brand in the ERC, and the Galician institutions for continuing to support me. Of course, also to the rest of the sponsors and collaborators who have managed to carry out this project.

Pardo, who lists Xunta de Galicia via Xacobeo 21-22 and the spa province of Ourense among its sponsors for 2022, will carry out a testing program ahead of its first scheduled ERC appearance in a Rally2 car on Rally Serras de Fafe – Felgueiras – Cabreira e Boticas in the north of Portugal from March 11 to 13.
