Six Big 12 student-athletes in track and field earn CoSIDA All-America honors

IRVING, Texas — Six Big 12 student-athletes were named to CoSida Division I Track & Field/Cross Country varsity teams this week.

Iowa State‘s Cailie Logue received her third All-America selection and second first-team merit while fellow Cyclone Thomas Pollard earned a first-team berth. Logue is the fifth ISU student-athlete to earn three or more Academic All-America honors in her career.

Texas’ Gabriele Montefalcone and Oklahoma State’s Ryan Smeeton rounded out the conference first-team selections.

Kansas State has two second-team winners in Tejaswin Shankar and Kassidy Johnson. This honor is the second of Shankar’s career.

2021-22 Men’s Athletics/Cross Country Academic All-America – First Team

Thomas Pollard, Iowa State – Gr., Information Systems and Business Analysis (4.00 GPA)

Ryan Smeeton, Oklahoma State – Sr., Mechanical Engineering (3.75)

Gabriele Montefalcone, Texas – Gr., Physics (4.00)

2021-22 All-America Men’s Athletics/Academic Cross Country – Second Team

Tejaswin Shankar, Kansas State – Gr., Accounting, Finance, Masters in Accounting (3.49/3.56)
